you took the words right out of my body.
the first time i was punched by someone else in the crowd, only to be told “i’m sorry bro” a moment later.
holding hands with the one person i knew in that sea of people, clenching their wrists as if life itself had depended upon the success of our journey to the center of the stage.
hearing that first drop. the one that pulls your heart straight out of your throat as you scream with every ounce of being every word you know.
that kiss at a show. the one in the heat of a beat you couldn’t stop if you tried. the one that confirms “we’re ok” for even a split seconds time before you’re torn from each others’ waists.
the beginning of your song. the one that was written just for you. each lyric, each beat, each gyration, you have it all in you and around you. for a split moment in time it becomes more than a speaker yelling it at you, you become part of it.
i am a concert dweller and i will be until these bones can’t take it anymore.
